Kuskokwim River Ice Conditions At Aniak – May 10

The ice is rapidly deteriorating near Aniak, although some sno go travel is still occurring.  Word from Ray Collins up in McGrath is that the ice is still solid and folks are still ice fishing for grayling.  Mark Leary in Napaimute reports that there is some open water upstream of the village.

The mouth of the Aniak River is open and the opening is working its way downstream, not yet down through the slough  below FAA landing, but turning back into the Kuskokwim just below the big island.
