Most of the ice pushed through in a shorter time period than most years; the breakup started around 1:15 pm and by 11:00 pm there were boats on the water.

Here’s what it was like at 4:30 pm.

There were a few pockets of water showing up by mid day.

The ice piled high on the dike.

King…or queen of the hill.

Bev and Nick Nicolai watching the ice flow by enjoying a dinner of Vienna sausages. Note the classy pink rims on the bike.

And once the ice passed – the boats came out!

And then there was a peaceful sunset to end the day.

And this was this morning the 27th at around 7:00 am.

And now we just wait for it to melt!
