A Quick Look At The Subsistence Harvest Numbers For Kuskokwim Kings Over A Ten Year Period (2001-2010)

The table below should be beneficial for Friday’s call-in show dealing with king salmon conservation and the discussion of equitable harvest opportunity throughout the Kuskokwim drainage.

Looking at the 10-year average from 2001 to 2010, here’s the breakdown as to what particular portion of the subsistence king harvest occurred in the different sections of river:

86% of the subsistence king salmon harvest occurred between, and including, the villages of Tuntatuliak and Tuluksak

Bethel alone harvested 33% of the king salmon harvested during that same 10-yr period

The middle river villages harvested 9%

The upper river villages harvested 4%
